The scholarships listed below are available from Jan. 31-April 4 to incoming 9th graders who have applied to SBHS and completed the admissions process for the 2025-26 school year. Scholarships are awarded for freshmen year only. Additional funding can be applied through CEF (Catholic Education Fund and Shea Education Fund) each year through the Archdiocese of Los Angeles. Only $500 scholarships are rewarded as a 4-year renewable scholarships unless indicated otherwise. The scholarship application process includes:
Step 1: Complete SBHS admissions application process
Step 2: Complete FACTS financial assistance application
Step 3: Complete scholarship application(s)
Step 4: Award letters will be emailed through FACTS in mid-March
Step 5: Accept scholarship award by deadline through FACTS account
Take your time to read the scholarship descriptions and apply for those you feel you are qualified for. Please understand that although you may meet the criteria for several scholarships, the number of applicants from deserving students far exceed the number of available scholarships and therefore it is rare that any one student will receive more than one scholarship.
The application deadline is April 4, 2025. Late applications will not be accepted as the review process is long and complex. Multiple readers take the time to review every essay. The top applications will be reviewed again before awards are made. Award notification is made mid-April. Scholarship recipients will be required to accept their award by a specific deadline or the scholarship will be forfeited. Good luck!
The Final decision for receiving the scholarship rests with the Principal of St. Bonaventure High School in consultation with her advisory board, and/or the families involved with the scholarship.
