St. Bonaventure has 96 computers on campus. There are 51 computers available for student use. Every teacher and staff member have a computer at their desk. Our classrooms have projectors or flat-panel displays installed and connected to the teacher's computer. There are currently four "virtual machines" running on a redundant host server, maintaining our local domain, filtering, anti-virus protection, and campus video surveillance. The host server is backed up every evening.
All of our faculty and staff computers are running the Windows® 10 Pro operating system. Student computers are utilizing Chrome OS Flex. Many of our computers are running other specialized programs for particular course needs. Google Workspace for Education is used for classroom collaboration with students, and scheduling using Google Calendar.
Every teacher, staff member and student has a unique login ID and password. Student IDs are more restrictive and are more closely monitored. All student internet access is filtered and recorded. Student documents and folders are routinely checked. Teachers and staff members are allowed to access student grades, attendance and information. Students and parents may access student grades, attendance and assignment information online using TeacherEase. Faculty and staff are also provided with e-mail and voice-mail.
Students are allowed to use the school's computers throughout the day. The SBHS Library Resource Center has 17 computers available exclusively for student use. The SBHS Library Resource Center is open before school starts from 7:30 AM to 8:25AM, and after school until 4:00 PM (after the first week of school).
