Sometimes we need a break from the daily grind to asses the way Christ might be moving in our lives

At St. Bonaventure High School, each class has a yearly retreat. Each retreat is designed and planned intentionally for you. Retreats are an opportunity to bond with your class and learn how to take the Mission of Christ into your daily life. Retreat locations vary by class.

Christian Service Program

Our Christian Service Program is an opportunity for members of the Saint Bonaventure community to look outside themselves and towards those in need. Through Christian Service projects, we answer the Franciscan call to active love.

The reality is that it is so easy to talk about being a good person and a lot harder to actually do the work to be a good person. Christ gives us an example of how to do that work in the Gospels.

Love Requires Action

Hours are tracked using MobileServe, an online platform which allows students to sign up, track, and keep a record of their Christian Service hours throughout the year. A signup link is emailed to every student so that they can redeem their MobileServe account using their school email. Once the account is claimed, students can download the MobileServe app. Along with the project log,. students are asked to respond to a brief reflection on the project and the impact it had on the community. This response is required to get credit for the hours served.

Looks for a local school that needs assistance. Do you like working with animals like St. Francis? A local shelter could defintely use your help. Reflect on your particular gifts when searching for projects.

Activities cannot be completely for pay, as the purpose of this volunteer Service is a free gift of self for the good of your neighbor. Normal family obligations do not count as Christian Service projects.
