A New Chapter Begins!

As we begin an exciting new chapter at St. Bonaventure High School, we are reminded that God is faithful in every season. Every student who walks through our doors has been created with a purpose, and together we help them discover it.

Your support provides tuition assistance, strengthens academic excellence and faith formation, enhances athletics and the arts, and improves our campus - investing in lives, opening minds, nurturing faith, and preparing young men and women to serve the world with courage and compassion.

Our goal is $100,000. Together, we can Trust His Plan and invest in the future of St. Bonaventure.

The Annual Fund is the most direct way to support our students and families. It provides resources for today's greatest needs while creating opportunities that transform lives every day.

Every gift—large or small—makes a meaningful difference. Thank you for being part of God's plan for St. Bonaventure High School.

New Bleachers. A Safer Gym. A Stronger Seraph Community.

47 Years of Seraph Memories. It's Time for a New Generation.

Since 1979, the St. Bonaventure High School gymnasium has been a gathering place for generations of Seraphs. From thrilling basketball and volleyball games to school assemblies, liturgies, performances, and community celebrations, our gym has been at the heart of campus life.

But after 47 years, our original bleachers are showing their age.

The aging retractable system has become increasingly difficult to operate, and the seating lacks designated aisles and stairways, making it challenging for grandparents, families with young children, and guests with mobility limitations to navigate.

It's time to make our gym safer, more accessible, and welcoming for everyone.

Our goal is to replace the original bleachers with a modern, electrically operated seating system featuring:

  • 480 seats in nine rows

  • Designated aisles for safer access

  • Wheelchair-accessible seating areas

  • Easier operation for school staff

  • Seraph green and gold seating proudly displaying our school spirit

Our Project Goal: $153,775

Every gift brings us closer to transforming this important campus gathering space.

Whether you're an alumnus remembering Friday night games, a parent cheering from the stands, or a friend of St. Bonaventure who believes in investing in our students, you can be part of this next chapter.

Help us create a safer place to gather, celebrate, compete, and make memories for generations to come.

Once a Seraph, Always a Seraph.

Brother Paul Horkan Endowment Fund

Edward T. O’Donnell, a History Professor from Holy Cross College, claims that the origin of the term – luck of the Irish, stems from the fact that many successful gold rush miners were either Irish or of Irish-American birth. That caused the locals to believe their luck may somehow tie into their lineage. This certainly was true with our beloved Brother Paul Horkan and his ability to inspire donors, students, teachers, coaches, and artists to think beyond what seemed possible to create new programs, better existing ones, and reimagine our campus. His belief in each person's excellence was contagious.

Our beloved Brother Paul Horkan came to St. Bonaventure High School in 1979 and taught until he was asked to serve as Principal from 1986 through 2007. During his time as principal, and under his visionary leadership, the school grew in numbers, and we added a large complex that housed the administration and program heads, as well as new classrooms. The football program rose to new heights, winning consecutive CIF and state titles; all other sports excelled, academic excellence thrived, and an award-winning drama department was created. Another exciting project that was near and dear to his heart was the new athletic field with modern "artificial turf" surface and a beautiful track. Everything seemed possible with Brother Paul's ebullient energy.

"Brother Paul was the best Principal I ever worked for in 40-plus years of education. He did unbelievable things for Saint Bonaventure High School. He was a tireless worker and truly committed to seeking excellence in everything," said Jon Mack, football coach under Brother Paul in the 1990s through 2007.

To honor the great legend and true Seraph of Saint Bonaventure High School, Brother Paul, we are opening an endowment fund to provide the opportunity for all to participate in building a foundation of support so his legacy of excellence and vision can live on forever. Please share your love of Brother by considering a gift to the Brother Paul Endowment Fund.

In loving Memory of Mike "Coach H" Herrera

In loving memory of Mike "Coach H" Herrera, a cherished vice principal and proud alumnus of St. Bonaventure Catholic High School, this scholarship honors his unwavering dedication to the mission of Catholic education. Coach H was a guiding light for students and athletes alike, embodying the belief that a Catholic education is truly an advantage for life.

His passion for helping others and his commitment to our school community have left an indelible mark on the hearts of many. As Coach H once said, "Passion is powerful... Nothing was ever achieved without it, and nothing will ever take its place. No matter what you face in life, if your passion is great enough, you will find the strength to succeed. Without passion, life has no meaning. So put your heart, mind, and soul into even your smallest acts. This is the essence of passion. This is the secret to life."

The Mike Herrera Memorial Scholarship, established by the Herrera family, seeks to continue Coach H's legacy by supporting the next generation of Seraphs. Through this scholarship, we honor his spirit and commitment to fostering passion in education.
